Smouse, I have looked on google and reference books re quotations but have not managed this one at all yet although it does sound vaguely similar to something I've heard before.

IHi Smouse! too have tried without any luck to get this answer, for over a week now. A number of folks have suggsted either Winston Churchill or Francis Bacon, but am unable to get any confirmation. Hopefully, some kind soul will put us out of our misery!

didnt really have much of a problem with the rest of them but spent ages on this one as you obviously have too
could be Churchill. Sounds a bit like another comment he's reported to have made when accused by some dowager of being drunk. His reply - "and you Madam are ugly, but in the morning I will be sober"
