Quite right fruitsalad. Send them all back before our island sinks!
Yeah know what you mean. There are new houses springing up everywhere but where I live none of the people who were born here can afford them! Stop people coming into the country before all we are left with is concrete, traffic congestion and thousands more on our benifits system!
I'm confused by bexste's comments. How will stopping people entering the country allow the buying of houses affordable for people who "were born here" ?
It is interesting to muse on and develop the benefits notion. Benefits are paid out of taxes to those in need. Eventually the entire country will have been taken over by people on benefits. So who is paying ? Well they are of course !! The concept has been previously proven in Karachi, Chad, and jolly good job too, about time we implemented it here.
well the council housing list has greatly increased since the influx of immigrants, They get priority on housing over people who have been waiting years for a move, there are not enough properties out there, this is a tiny place that keeps continuing to let more and more people in
Next the'll be building houses on islands that float through the sky.
fine, thanks. I like your statement " in such a wealthy country as ours" Where are YOU living ??? Don't you mean underfunded hospitals, police force etc etc. Take a trip by train through many Midland and Northern cities and you will see near the tracks many abandoned buildings/factories that need pulling down and used for flats, not greenfield sites. And yes, like any other reasonable country such as Australia, why don't we put restrictions, especially financial, on immigrants.
Nowt on telly so thought I would check in on here.
Dassie is right use the brown field sites and leave the country side alone for new homes .What do you think Doc ?
