Has anyone ever been on one and are they fun or a rip off? have read some really bad reviews from people!

I have not been on one myself but knew a friend who worked for a tour company and also heard from other people information about them. It depends on what you are looking for but normally people going on them are looking for a mad drunken holiday and the reps encourage this. Now dont get me wrong I can party like the rest of them but occasionally may want a bit of quiet time but I believe you will be pressured by your rep to book excursions(normally involving heaps of drink) and also you will be put in an area of the hotel where you are surrounded by other 18-30 customers which obviously means little chance of any sleep whatsoever. Seemingly if they think you are trying to have a lie in and miss the fun they will be banging on your door. Dont think it is a rip off other then you are probably paying for a rep to take you round bars when I am sure you can do that quite easily yourself??

It was quite a few years ago, but I have been on one. At the morning meeting we were pressured into booking up all the excursions and paying up front for them which was quite a bit of money. However, they were quite good fun, although, yes getting drunk and doing stupid things is very much encouraged by the reps and very much a part of the experience. Many evenings were spent in the clubs. If you are up for a laugh and love clubbing but can stand up to people who are trying to get you to either drink more than you should or do something with someone you shouldn't then you will probably have a good time. Just be careful and watch your drink at all times. Typical excursions included a theme night, a beach party, a foam party at one of the clubs, watching a hypnotist, a bbq etc

I haven't gone with them but I have travelled under similar schemes. Basically they aren't a rip off, they work out at the same price as other holidays (cheaper in our case) but once you get there, the reps give you the hard sell on the excursions, which obviously you don't have to go on.
