Are those cheap imported motorcyles from China safe?(not mini-moto things, i'm talking about the yamaha / honda 'copies')

I seem to remeber seeing something on TV about a year ago that there were safety fears over them.

Not sure about China but I ride a Vespa and Vietnam is churning out loads of "genuine 1960's" scooters. They are new and everything is above board but they use inferior parts which ultimately won't do you any good in the long term.

Pay the extra and get the real thing.

They are safe, they would not be allowed on the road if they weren't but they don't last very long.
