sonic up date maneger

Hi every time i turn my PC on I get a message ( Sonic up date manager . The feature you are trying to use is on a CD ROM that is not available insert disk ) I don't have a disk . I don't know why this started doing this but it a bloody nuisance trying to shut it down so that it goes away is very difficult clicking cancel will not get rid of it . the only way to get rid of it is to click on the close X about 20 times . it still pop up at random and until i close it down I cannot turn my PC off . even when i try shut down . I don't even know what a sonic update manager is .System restore wont get rid of it ether. any help please thank you

i had this after i'd had my dell laptop for about a year - really really irritating, i deleted the sonic updater in the end - which did the trick !!

Thank you . Do you know the S updater is for or what it updates ?
