Can anyone tell me how to send a picture in e-mail as an imbedded picture rather than an attachement.
I'm using O/E 6.

You can only insert a picture if your e-mail is in HTML format. To check, go to Format and check that there's a dot alongside HTML format.

To insert your picture, ensure that your cursor is at the point where you want the picture to appear. Go to Insert > Picture and click Browse. Navigate to the picture's location on your PC. Double-click on the file. Click OK.

But note that if the person RECEIVING the e-mail has their e-mail system set up to recieve all e-mails as plain text then it will still arrive as an attachment.

Some people dont like getting e-mails in HTML format as people can hide viruses inside the HTML.

Many thanks Buenchico & vehelpfulguy.
I found where to change to HTML format but decided to heed vehelpfulguy's comments and will not attempt to send an imbedded picture.
Thanks again.............Curtis.
You can of course save the picture as an image (from your scanner) then right click on the file and select "send to mail recipient". you will then get a small screen stating 'send pictures by email' which has a radio button 'Make all my pictures smaller', click OK and Outlook Express will open with the pictures attached and ready for you to write your email.
p.s. forgot to ssay this works with plain text.

My sincere apologies for not replying sooner.
I tried your suggestion without success but the only way I could test this was to send it to myself. The picture still shows as an attachement.
Thanks for trying.
