You can transfer files from camcorder to laptop using a thing called firewire. new laptops have this built in. It is like a USB port but with a triangle on the end. you need to buy the actual thing to fit in your laptop and the cable that connects your camcorder to your laptop, you should then be able to save them to your computer, and you can send them in email easily! some people just use a 2.0 USB port, but it does not deliver the same quality onto your laptop as firewire does.

Hmmm, cheers. i dont think i have that firewire thing on mine. I have a IEEE port and 3 usb ports though.
So will i not need a disc or have to download anything?
Will i just get a lead and it will come on automatically?
that is an amazing bit of info, i have been able to load the stuff off my camcorder onto my old PC but my son has been editing a skateboarding film and wanted to use my PC but we didn't think we could get the correct USB cable, this helps alot so cheers
