No. Rather stick pins in my eyes.
I kind of hoped it would be the girl from the 'Weeping Angels' episode.
I don't like catherine Tate and didn't think much of the Christmas one but she may suprise me and actually reveal some talent.
I've never really liked Catherine Tate, well I hated the show and as a result built up an unreasonable hatred for her and all she touched. I love Dr Who and so was dreading the christmas special, and having to look at CT for an hour. However... I thought it was a brilliant episode and CT really won me over to the point I was almost hoping she would say yes when he asked, so, I suppose I'm happy to see how it pans out, it's certainly not he worst thing in the world. The end!
i dont like CT and cant believe she has been hired to do this?

what was up with martha??
i am really gutted. She just shouts all the time and is really annoying to watch.

i cant imagine there being any chemistry between her and the dr (like there was with Rose and Martha)..
"We are delighted that one of Britain's greatest talents has agreed to join us for the fourth series," he said.

Although she wasn't quite as annoying as I had expected, I'd hardly go that far.

Bit disappointed by the lack of Martha, who I felt was way more interesting/likeable/better-acted/hot than Rose. A lot of people don't seem to have liked the character for some reason.
I didn't mind her, she did seem to have more oppertunity for character development than Rose did (though I do love Rose), Perhaps that was the problem, the character was too faultless so people didn't feel they could relate to her, probably too slim, too intelligent, too independent etc. people got jealous!

I don't think there always has to be sexual tension between the doctor and his companion, there hasn't always been, not to the extent of Rose and Martha anyway.
one of Britain's greatest talents... Judi Dench... Helen Mirren... Vanessa Redrave... Catherine Tate... oh yes, she's not out of place in that list at all, is she...
I'm realy ticked off about. U can't stand CT's comedy shows or her delivwey of lines. However, I do believe her relatively similar age to Tennant may be interesting, after two much younger women.
Sorry. I not U.
Well, I am really pleased that Catherine has got the part! Her comic timing will be entertaining and the fact that there will be no hint of romance between her and The Doctor is a good thing in my opinion. Martha was a terrible character and to make her fall in love with the doc after his wonderful partnership with Rose was just silly - hence why (to my mind) she didn't work out. I never saw one iota of chemistry between the two of them! She is coming back halfway through series 4 to join the doc and Donna though (worst luck). I think CT will be great!!!!
Do the sets still wobble ?
Tut if I knew they were considering her for his love interest i would have gone for it myself, i am fitter and better looking and yield better under pressure.
I think Catherine Tate is a pretty good actress, but the Donna character made me want to punch the screen and a whole season of that... Urgh.

At least Freema's coming back. I thought she was great!
Martha is going to be in Torchwood, the spin off of DR WHO
I didn't like her show but I thought she was okay on the one episode she was on previously so we will just have to wait and see how she fares.
