Does anyone know where I can find information on the surname Chomandley? I'm doing my family tree and my dad's Grandmother had that surname before she married into the Wilde family.

Nothing came up on FreeBMD. Do you have the date of the marriage? Perhaps there are alternative spellings of the surname, Chomondeley comes up as the closest match. Not much help, sorry!

Have you tried a corruption, such as Cholmondley/Charmondley etc? In searching for my family tree, an ancestors maiden name has at least 4 variant spellings, causing us all kinds of headaches!
BTW, there is a Marquess of Cholmondeley. Look him up in Wikipedia.

If it is cholmondley remember it is pronounced CHUMLEY and will be transcribed as such.
