How do I download photo's from my camera phone

I need help I cannot download photo's from my camera onto my laptop. My phone is a Samsung SGH D900, Iam using Windows XP and I have a USB. What am I not doing?

Have you installed the software for your camera. try and access via "My Computer" it may show up as mass storage device or USB device.

Yes, software is installed but I gety a message on wizard telling me "computer cannot detect scanner or camera"

is software compatible with windows XP also is Phone contract or pay as you go?

I don't know if software is compatable, I am not very technical. Phone is contract.

If your camera phone store images on a memory card,easiest way is to put the card into a usb connected card reader.If the phone is bluetooth enabled you could get a usb bluetooth dongle and transfer via bluetooth
