Tylopod I think
i have tylopod
I put taliped
I think "TALIPED" misses the mark. It refers only to club-footedness or some other foot deformity.
I suspect that "TYLOPOD" - the singular of the Tylopoda in the clue - is the only possible answer that matches the clue accurately. Shame on KM for including the answer in the clue. Notice that she has done a similar thing in 23a, where she could have used the word "fabric" in the clue instead of "cloth".
MM would never have comitted such a solecism!!
Surprised Sarumite has not joined in on this one. Once bitten, twice shy perhaps?
Best wishes all,
Yodinlim.
Agree TYLOPOD reference in Brittanica online seems definitive. can be found at:- http://www.britannica.com/eb/article-9073986/t ylopod

Agree that KM is letting herself down with these sloppy clues. I find them very unsettling and unsatisfactory. She is clever enough to find alternative words, surely?
