When I copy files from my hard disc video camera to my laptop, they appear as mpegs, but also have an additional information file with them.

I want to rename the mpegs and split them into separate folders, but do I need to do the same with the information files?

Or can I create a new file and dump all of these information files into it, so that the mpegs are not cluttered?

Thanks very much

Just rename the mpg files and save them where you prefer. Test them and if they view ok, then you can forget about the associated info. files.
