My friend is pregnant and she wants an abortion. She is very, very scared of general anaesthetic. Despite being 4 weeks pregnant when she got a referral her appointment at the clinic isnt until she is 9 and a half weeks, meaning the procedure will not be carried out until she is 10 weeks at the earliest. This means she has dipped out of the medical abortion zone. I read up on it for her, and apparently medical might be preferrable after 12 weeks anyway. So do you think they would let her wait until that time? Or has anyone actually heard of a termination being carried out under a local? I know its possible but dont know of anyone who has had it? If so what does it involve?

no she tuned a bit loopy, she always been a bit strange but now she's mega nuts
I will never forget when at work, one of our employees coming into my office to explain why she'd been off sick for a few days.

She started to tell me she'd had a stomach ache. When I showed her my sympathy & hoped that she felt better, she broke down in tears. I asked her if there was anything else she wanted to tell me, but she didn't answer. I asked her if she might be pregnant & she cried even more. After a few more minutes, I asked if she'd just had a termination & she sobbed out "Yes".

I immediately put my arms around her & gave her a big reassuring cuddle. She then poured her heart out to me & felt so much better for it, as she hadn't told anyone else, not even her own Mum.

She thanked me from the bottom of her heart for being such a kind, understanding 'boss' - but as I reminded her 'there but for fortune go I'.

It's such a shame that some girls/women have to suffer in silence for fear of being condemned!
Or judged....
I used to say I could never and would never and couldnt even imagine killing another life, but another friend of mine has confessed something lately and I can completely understand why she had it done as with my other mate too. Other people can say things all they want but they will never now until they are in that situation.
no wish to be judgemental here, but is their an argument for some people using terminations as a form of contraception ?
Im sure it does happen with some fine, thanks but as a general rule do you honestly think that this sort of thing would be easier than using a condom or swallowing a pill for the majority of women? Accidents do happen you know
hi red i know accidents happen, but i know someone who has had three terminations of pregnancy, is that bad luck, is there any supermarket now who dont sell condoms. are there any g p :s who dont prescribe the pill, does your family planning clinic open at night, would taking the morning after pill be wrong ? i have no wish to judge anyone who has been in the position of having an unwanted pregnancy,
my neighbour is about to have her 4th child (all different fathers) and has had 3 abortions to date. As I said, it does happen, but i think that that would be an entirely different thread to this. Most women choose the easier (both physical and mental) route of contraception and face the consequences of an unwanted pregnancy as they see fit at the time.
Accidents most certainly do happen & as I said earlier 'there but for fortune go you or I'.

However, I can understand why fine, thanks asked the question. Of course there are girls/women & men out there who couldn't give a toss (pardon the pun), about using safer mothods &/or taking abortions lightly, but one shouldn't tar everyone with same brush.

This is why some girls/women are unable to share their 'secrets' with anyone for fear of being tarred!
*methods!
