Are there any other shoppings malls of this ilk in the South of England (the Bullring's way too far) or are there any more planned?

There is The Mall at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol. There are all the high st shops here plus a huge John Lewis.

Planned shopping malls: There is a �320 m mall going up in Stratford, a �120m extension to the Friary Centre in Guildford, a �300 mall proposed in Nottingham to replace the Broadmarsh centre, White City mall in West London which is due for completion next year. The Eagle centre in Derby should be nearing completion soon too.

Sorry those were technically South East England not South. As far a i am aware there in a new centre in Plymouth and a new one proposed in Portsmouth. I have seen the plans and layouts of both are they while not as substantial as those mentioned above, should offer a fair range of stores.

theres the centre mk in milton keynes but that may be a bit far up!
