fan assisted oven

im cooking a chicken in a fan assisted oven after 40 minutes of cooking the oven starts smoking and the chicken looks cooked whats going on

well i put the oven on at 200 i know this was a bit high to cook a chicken but ive just cut the chicken and yes u guessed it, it easnt cooked !

The oven needs cleaning

Check the bottom of the oven and give it a quick wipe over,the same thing happened to ours and all it turned out to be was were something had dripped,so clean it and it should be fine.......

Maybe you have left the sunday paper in the oven, after too many drinkies down the pub at dinner time...

If you use a fan assisted oven the temperature should be slightly lower than usual not higher.
