How can people still have periods whilst pregnant ?

I know its possible , obviously cause it happens. Im just curious how the body works that way. Anyone know and whats the longest u ladies have continued having them whilst preggers . Cheers

Although this happened to me, it was neevr explained as to why or how, so I can't help you there I'm afraid. I had never given it thoguht myself until now!
I had two normal periods at the start of my pregnancy, I didn't have one at 3 months or after.
I once read of a lady (from Italy I think) who had periods throughout her pregnancy. The Doctors were obviously puzzled but it turned out that she had two wombs, one with the baby in and one that was bleeding every month!
My mum had them all the way through with me and i had them till being 4 months with my little bump, i have always been told its the lining coming away but this doesnt make sense to me
