This doesn't sound good. These days fridges are cheaper to replace than to repair, mostly, though you need to factor in the disposal costs. Most retailers have a sale on this weekend though......

I would also be worried about the gas that escaped. I am sure it's probably harmful.
Unlikely to be repaired. Time for a new one
The gas that escaped is only harmfull to the environment, it is illegal to release it into the atmosphere, bit more of the ozone layer will dissapear now.

As above, hardly worth repairing.
All i can say is one word

NOOB

Poking things you dont know about with sharp objects will obviously lead you to being called one of these terms.

Also i say NOOBx2 cause you came on Answer bank to have us comfirm your stupidity, by tellin us how daft you were to do that in the first place.

Ever heard of just leaving the thing off and letting it defrost? NOOOOOO not quick enough, well your about 190 out of pocket now cause thats how much it costs to replace it.
They used to use a refrigerant that was a CFC, causing big problems to the ozone layer.
A few years go by international agreement they changed to much less harmful stuff, but it may still be not very nice.
