If I were to buy a cheap Sky Plus box can i just swap it around with my own normal box. I don't want to pay Sky's over inflated prices. I think they should give me one for nothing as I've been a loyal customer for years long before Sky Plus boxes. Anyway that's a whole other thing.

Can I just plug in another Sky Plus box?

Thanks

You need a new LNB on your dish, you need two cables from the dish to the Sky+ box (you currently only have one), and you need a new Sky viewing card.

Not easy to do yourself me thinks.

I think the 10 a month for Sky+ has been removed (or is being removed).

The only extra cost is 99 for a Sky+ box which is a one off payment.

Phone up Sky and say you want Sky+ and I think the only cost will be the 99 (and maybe a fitting fee).

Once you have Sky+ you will never regret it, it is pretty impressive.
my partner is a sky engineer and as said in previous post you will need an lnb also 2 cables rather than one.
people do get round it by getting a cable splitter and splitting the one cable from the dish into 2 when it is inside their house.

if you have a sky plus box you will have to ring up sky and get them to pair the card and they will then know u have sky plus anyway!

if you would like more info about ways round it or using a sub contracting company rather than sky as it is cheaper then let me know
if you call sky and say u want sky plus they'll tell u how much and if u think it's to steep tell them you wont pay that and threaten to go to virgin media and they will do you a deal
