on opening nero , on the left hand tabs choose nero recode and choose the top option , recode an entire dvd to dvd ( i think ) to burn your dvd.
first though make a new folder in my documents and call it nero temp or something and when asked choose this for your tempory files whilst burning.
sorry just read rest of post...i think it is caused by the film being in avi/divx format which nero has to recode first before it can burn. as you play back before burning nero is showing you the raw version.
in media player as you obviously have the right codecs installed it has no probs playing the avi format.
think you can untick the preview bit. It will also speed up the encoding part by not having it play in preview box. I always find its so slow to do axxo films in nero. What I do which work out better is just hock up my computer to my tv. Then I just play it in windows and at same time record it on dvd hard drvie via tv. Also this way you get better quality as nero I never get same quality and sometimes the audio is out of sync. Via hardrive record its perfect everytime.
