I wish you well, and may I ask why you keep falling off your bike ?

If you go on your bike you may need the hospital you are raising money for.
Speaking personally, I have never seen a walker overtake a person on a bike unless the person on a bike is not moving or going very slowly or stuck in traffic even when the walker is extremely fit like Linford Christie so I would imagine it is quicker by bike.
Good luck
