More and more insurance companies are now ignoring as many as three speeding convictions.

Is this yet more proof, if indeed more proof were needed, that speed cameras having nothing to do with safety and everything to do with revenue raising?

speed cameras are neccessary on certain roads where there have been numerous accidents. if they are placed at the right position to deter speeding drivers and perhaps save lives then I'm all for them, but when they are placed at the end of a 30mph zone just befor an unrestricted speed sign then it puzzles me as to what possible good they can do, and I sometimes wonder if the bloke who installed it had put it in the wrong place,as there was no possibility of an accident happening on a straight road with no junctions and no houses. lets have them near schools , built up areas and black spots and not in money making areas.

Wholeheartedly agree.

Schools - fine. Accident black spots - fine.

On a straight dual-carriageway like the A21 with no previous history of accidents - not fine and simply an excuse to tax the motorist.
