Are breast implants safe? Is it just the silicone ones that are risky?

Silicone- no way! Saline, and a certain type of vegetable oil (it escapes me right now)- are "safe". I say "safe", because, if they break, the contents will not be toxic to your body. However, any constant irritation to flesh can cause a cancer to form. Also, they make it more difficult to detect lumps in their early stages, when it is most important to detect them.
I saw a documentary recently about this subject, and one of the points raised was that when someone has implants inserted they automatically sentence themselves to further surgery later on. The reason given was that the implants harden over time and have to be removed or replaced after 10-15 years.
I disagree with the first person. Implants do not cause cancer, quite the contrary. A scientific expriment on rats found that a rat that was implanted and injected with cancer did not die,and actually survived the cancer opposed to it's counter part rat injected with cancer (and no implant) that died. something about the implant that raises the bodies immune system around the implant that fights cancer cells from forming. doctor's are working on this to find a cure for cancer. However,no implant is completely safe. saline are safer then it's silicone sister, but still involve risks, such as hardning and deflating...or even silicone poisoning from the shell of the implant.I have 3 people in my family that have breast implants though, and none of them have had problems. My aunt has had them for over 10 years.I guess it really depends on the person, how you will react will it.
