Hi - first two thoughts were "Song of the Siren" - lyrics below

http://www.lynchnet.com/lh/siren.html

and "Wild is the Wind" but when I actually read the lyrics I'm not so sure - however David Bowie's version remains one of my favourite pieces of music

And finally - The Smiths - difficult to decide which one but "There is a light that never goes out" won!

thanks yeah cant argue with smiths, although i prefer sid viciouse version of my way sorry.
the line from imagine by john lennon
"imagine all the people living life in peace"
so simple but so meaningful
"did you happen to catch
or did it happen so fast
what you thought would always last
has passed you by

is everything speeding up
or am I slowing down
just spinning around
and I don't know why
all the pieces don't fit
thought I really didn't give a s**t"

[Nine Inch Nails - "Where is everybody?"]
"Hurt" by Nine Inch Nails (but perhaps better known sung by Johnny Cash) has terrific lyrics
Practically anything by REM - Michael Stipe is a poet!
I had this part of a Bauhaus song, sent to me in a valentine card, consequently we soon split up.

Out of her mouth it came as no surprise
Lipstick stained on whipcream lies

The link gives the whole song

Well, they'll stone ya when you're trying to be so good,
They'll stone ya just a-like they said they would.
They'll stone ya when you're tryin' to go home.
Then they'll stone ya when you're there all alone.
But I would not feel so all alone,
Everybody must get stoned. (Bob Dylan, Rainy Day Women #12 & 35)
