the news being about Maddie all the time? Don't get me wrong, its awful, but do we need to keep seeing her parents on tv, walking to church, going to the shop, etc. etc. Media attention is important I know, but don't ram it down our throats. Keep us updated when progress has been made. Do I sound harsh?

You don't leave children alone for any reason, not just for fear of kidnap, but anything could happen if they cry too much they can be sick or choke, even when we go into the garden to hang out the washing the first thing to do is check the baby

I would never leave my children unattended whatsoever either in my own country , or indeed in a foreign country and if we dine , we all dine together , as a family but I am not perfect because I am inherently human and sometimes I make mistakes. You are not given a handbook on how to be the perfect parent in the delivery suite in the hospital and you have to learn as you go. Most of this learning is based on our own experiences of family life and how we raise our children is often reflective of this. One thing we know though is that life is a learning curve and we learn from our mistakes. The McCanns made a mistake - one which has cost them greatly as they have paid the ultimate price , the mysterious disappearance of their daughter. They are undoubtedly suffering enough , so I fail to see how seeking to vilify them is deemed to be justified by a sector of the public baying for blood. Not concerned with watching the anguish of that poor little girl's parents or the pain etched on her mother's face , they continue to bleat about how she didn't look sad enough , how she had time to go to church and wasn't out searching every nook and cranny and even speculating about whether or not they may have been personally involved in her disappearance.

.
No , I am not appalled by the enormous amount of media coverage of this little girl. I welcome any attention in this case because if the media interest wanes , then people will begin to forget and this can only spell more heartache for the McCanns as their precious little girl slips further away from them. Like Boo , I have young children too and am deeply affected by this story. My youngest daughter is four too - just three months older than Madeleine - and has similar hair and eyes to her. I cried as I watched the video footage of her as she reminded me so much of my little girl and I must admit that I held my children a little closer at bedtime , secure in the knowledge that my children were safe. It makes no odds to me what the rights and wrongs are of this little girl's disappearance. The most important thing is bringing her home safely. (God willing) Personally I am more disgusted by the attitudes of some people who are more concerned with crucifying her parents for leaving her unattended than worrying about her safety. They made a mistake and they are suffering enough
Sorry but I think it is getting to the stage of overkill. Our local TV news have now joined the media scrum, as the bloke who's villa has been searched apparently came from our area.

I have even received chain emails and text messages asking me to pass on their contents to everyone I know.
Yes I feel sorry for the kid, but the parents did leave her alone, and sorry but there is nothing I can do.
