can a learner driver carry passengers if they have a qualified driver supervising

The answer is yes. The qualified driver has to be in the front passenger seat obviously. I used to do this when I was still a learner and I know of people who have even had passengers on their official driving lessons. You will find a lot of organisations recommend agaisnt this though....lack of concerntration, blocking your view/mirrors....that kind of thing......didnt bother me though ;)

Think it might be longer than that actually, and they have to be over 21 years of age.

The person supervising must be aged 21 or over and held a full UK or EC for at lest tyears.

hi there im taking my test at the min you have to be insured to drive someones car and the supervised driver has to be over 21 and hold a licence for at least 2 years, and yes you can carry passengers its only in an instructors car that you cant have passengers. a bit crap but its the law. hope you pass your test soon i failed my first 1 on the 1st of may so i know how hard it is so i wish you luck with it. i did, hubby in passenger seat, kids in back - over 21 and licence for 3 years.
