peoguet 306 miss firing

Hi i have a 306 1.4LX S reg. my car keeps miss firing very regularly when ever im driving causing my engine light to flash on and off and my car often cuts out, when driving or standing. theres no codes present on my e.c.u as ive had it scanned already. also had the catalitic and exhaust checked. any ideas any body please as its driving me mad and cant really drive my car in this condition.thanks.

i have just posted a question on the site! but your fault sounds exactly like my sons was . get the coil pack checked.

I had this problem with my 306. The sparks and coil pack were changed but it didn't solve it. It was in and out of the dealership and they were rubbish. Eventually I phoned a guy who checks electrical type things on cars. He ran his checks and found a problem with the potentiometer (whatever that is!). Hope that helps, it took ages to get the bottom of the problem with mine.

the throttle potentiometer is probably what you mean & yes it could cause this kind of problem but should show up if the ECU problem codes are read!

True but the Peugoet dealership ran an ecu on mine and didn't spot the problem.

thanx 4 answering but weve checked everything and theres no codes present at all. gona change the ECU and see if that does owt. hope so.
