visitor visa in peru

Im planning to go to peru on a visitor's visa which entitles me to a maximum of 90 days stay. Whilst I am in Peru, will I be able to visit countries like Argentina and Mexico? Will I need a separate visa to enter these countries? Will my visitor's visa expire if I leave Peru to visit another country for a few days?

I can't help about Peru, but I've visited Argentina and I didn't have to get a visa or anything - just had to fill in some form when I went through immigration, and then hand it back when I left again. If there's a STA Travel nearby, they were really helpful to me and can help you with things like visas. Have a great time, it sounds like an excellent trip.

Assuming you have a UK passport you don't need a visa for Peru. You get an entry permit on arrival.

Whether it remains valid when you return to Peru from another country I don't know

If you've got a British passport, you don't require a visa to enter Peru. That would seem to apply irrespective of whether you travel directly from the UK or (re-)enter from a third country:

I hope that you're aware of the scale and geography of Central and South America. Neither Mexico nor Argentina borders Peru; they're both many thousands of miles away. (Mexico City is 3600 miles from Lima. Buenos Aires is 5400 miles from Lima) ;-)

Yeah Im aware of the distance Chris, it would involve about 6 hour flight from Peru! The thing is that if I decide to leave peru to see mexico for a week, and then re--enter peru, will that entitle me to a new 90 day visa?

...if thats the case then I can pretty much re-enter peru within 90 days repeatedly using a tourist visa, right?

According the Peruvian embassy website (1st link above), you don't require a visa. Therefore, it can't run out!

If you're still not certain, I suggest phoning the Peruvian consulate. (The number's on the web page).
