keep getting emails for downloading FREE? films etc.i always just block the email addresses but they just change the wording slightly and send more.haven't really bothered to explore these sites but wondered if anyone knows, are they really free?? cant see it myself.thanks

It sounds like the emails you are getting are SPAM.
Stay away from all SPAM emails as they often have virus, spyware and are notorious for gathering your details and spreading them around. You just end up with more SPAM and the possiblility of having your personal details used for criminal activity.
Search AB for bit torrent sites and use the recommended ones.
