the white crusty skin that is found around some french cheeses, is this edible ????? i have always carefully cut this off but i am told it's such a waste as it is edible..... can anyone assure me it is possible to eat this ?

All skin around french cheeses is edible as it's a natural skin formed throughout the process of the cheese. However, it's dry and strong so it's not to everybody's liking. it's perfectly safe to eat.
I always eat it and I am still here.

The crusty bit is mould but it is edible.
