Hi AB advisors - especially mammar and curly perm... i finally did it - today - his day of leaving! Sent a cake for the party and a nice pressie... Also phoned the school to ask him to call. Daughter came back with message of thanks and one of her friends told him I fancied him - he laughed. No call.

But.............. got a text tonight apologising he forgot to call me, did I want to speak to him still? I said yes, though not about school or my daughter. I asked if he'd like to meet up sometime.. I've now got his mobile and home number and will be phoning him Sunday!! Fingers crossed... will keep you informed if we meet. Thanks for you encouragement x x x

'Have it out with him'?? Please don't do that, it's sure to make you look too pushy and will probably scare him off.
Could you get a friend of yours to 'invite' you both to dinner and call him to say you have been invited to dinner with a guest and if he isn't busy would he like to go with you?
If he says no and doesnt offer an alternative meeting think you've got to accept he was just being nice to you because you're a pupils mother.
Hope it works.

Hey Spanish Wine.. I wasn't going to have a go at him or demand an answer - just ask nicely when/if he feels he might be available. After all if he's not interested he shouldn't have text me or given me his home number surely?

I did ask over a week ago if he'd be around this coming weekend but he's busy (and didn't offer an alternative) but he's said he'll be in tonight if I want to phone - so very mixed signals.. might mention the dinner thing tonight and see what happens - thanks!
Thank you Faye - I nearly missed this update cos I'd forgotten to subscribe to it and I been a bit poorly recently so not been on for ages.
Tall dear - I think we have to accept that he may have slipped off the hook. You've done everything right so far and not pushed too much but he just doesn't seem to be taking the bait.
Full marks though - you have the satisfaction of knowing you did it carefully and no-one has lost face over it. All you can do is sit back now and see what he does.
And if he doesn't get back to you that's his loss. You're a good catch and there's plenty more fish in the sea. Now I'm going to sling my hook and fin(k) about what's for tea. I might hum a tuna two while I'm doing it.
(I hope the puns are only a side effect of the antibiotics and the effect will soon wear off!)
