Recently when playing tapes on my VCR I get the notation EC2 on the top left corner of my TV.Can anyone please tell me what it means and how to remove it?

Is it a Panasonic, by any chance?

You need to get into the setup menu and turn the 'on screen graphics' off.

Yes Ethel its a Panasonic but I can't find "on screen graphics" in the setup menu..

It might be shown as OS or OSG.

On mine it is OSG off. By pressing 'ok' it changes to OSG on.
