change the bag , put some air freshner in the new one may help
Try some shake'n'vac on the carpet then hoover it should take the smell away
Change the bag and the filters.

And make sure she washes the dog first before you have it over next :o)
Dysons do not have bags to change.
Wash the filters.

Ethel is right it's the DC04 model and it doesn't have bags. The filter is a sponge and i've washed that but it still hasn't got rid of it.
You can wash the Clear plastic cylinder but are not supposed to wash the yellow part with the small holes but I brush mine with a toothbrush as the holes become clogged sometimes. Then wipe it with a damp cloth and dry it off with kitchen roll. Put a small amount of perfumed oil on a cloth and wipe everything .If you can, leave it outside to dry and that should do the trick.By the way Dyson advise not to use Shake'n'vac.
try some fresh lemon, this elemenates most unpleasant smells,
Dont think you should keep the lemon in there when using the dysont though.
