ISP to blame for crashing?
Why is it, ever since I changed to Virgin broadband, my computer is crashing left right and centre and every program I download seems to be corrupt and unworkable? With GoogleEarth I'll have just a minute of browsing before the whole thing goes kaput. With AOL dial-up none of this happened. Is it the ISP?

I think its more a software issue switching over from AOL like Ethel said. AOL uses so many areas of the hard disk and removing it over the years has been problematic. I think they have sorted things out and you should remove it.
If you have a Windows XP disk pop it in the drive, dont let it run and go to start then run and type cmd then enter. type sfc/ scannow and this will repair any windows system files that may have been corrupted in the switch over to Virgin.
If your operating system is crashing then this will probably solve the issue.
