Downloading freezes and glitches

Why is that everthing I download either has errors in it and cannot be run or the program just freezes halfway through? Is it my computer or my broadband connection at fault. The only thing I can get problem free is itunes.

It sounds like a PC problem, either you haven't got the software to open the files you are downloading or you need to update your PC specs, I don't imagine its your broadband connection if you can download it in the first place!!
