Ah - but I'd counter that with examples of mass celebrations of 'Britishness' that were inclusive and there wasn't a whisper of complaint from anyone.

To whit - the golden jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II.

I watched the news closely that day, and lo and behold, crowds of people lining the mall, waving the Union Jack without a murmur from anyone.

It can done...there should definitely be a St George's Day. It would be fantastic.

Just as long as everyone was included and the BNP didn't get a look in.
