I've just seen an ad for the film 300 in which leonidas the hero says "So we will fight in the shade" when told the enemy arrows will darken the sky. Earlier this week I watched a film called "The 300 Spartans " telling the same story but made in the 60-70's,in which the same phrase was used in the same circumstances. So is there some historical basis for this speech or did some film maker it up because it sounds so cool
