If you had to choose between a Mondeo and a Primera, both one year old and both 2ltr deisel or petrol, which would you choose and why ? Authoritative answers, please , and preferably based on grounds other than the obvious devaluation aspect, which is taken for granted.

I have a Mondy Zetec estate- 2L petrol, I bought it with my own money .They are good value for money- not new.But i would not the the diesel as there are many reported problems with TDCI- beware.
The Mondy is a big luxerious car that I feel is more modern than the Pimera, that seems rather old fashioned.
The Mondy handles very well, goes fast too.has lots of features at Zetec level.
The parts will be cheap and easy, the body?, who cares it's gauranteed 12 years , and I'll not have it that long.
Nissans are a reliable, if boring cars, IMHO, and it depends on price- get the cheapest ,newest, best condition, highest spec for your money out of those two.
BTW, there is a vast choice of Mondies, probaly very few Pimera to choose from.
I own a 2002 mondeo ghia x TDci and have not had one problem with it. Would highly recommend. They are economical yet there is suffiecent power there if needed.

Thank you all.

And Madmoneo, I already own a 2000 2ltr Zetec (Petrol) Mondy and, like you, have never had any trouble. I change the engine oil and filter every 3,000 miles or 3 months.

So it looks like another Mondeo for me.
