Internet connection

I cannot connect to the internet using the on screen icon or the internet button on my PC. However I can access the internet by visiting websites via my e:mails!! How can I solve this problem?

yor internet shortcut on yor desktop is prob kerplunk,try draging a new internet shortcut from yor start window,bottom left and deleting yor old desktop internet shortcut

I assume wireless but don't know really

Google Earth, explorer and show desktop

Only had this problem for about a week

I need to know ALL icons that are alongside your clock in the bottom right of your screen when you are on-line.

Is your pc connected to the router or modem by cable?

My PC is connected by cable.
all modems on right hand side are:
Amor2net personal firewall
virgin Media PC guard
safely remove hardware
volume
windows messenger (which I don't use)
broadband medic
Bigfix
printer
Windows security alerts
windows updates

Thanks for trying to assist. After much searching (not really knowing what I was doing) I downloaded Virgin broadband help and following instructions I solved the problem in a few minutes! Hurrrah!
