don't think there is a link, i have 1 boy and 1 girl and had the same cravings with both, hope this helps
Cravings that supposedly tell you the sex of your baby are all old wives tales and all should be taken with a pinch of salt ;o)

Everyone is different, and the cravings I had were too ~ with my 4 children there was no rhyme or reason to the cravings at all..I just ate everything!
well i had cravings, but not of the food variety, but smells, the smell that i desperatly wanted all the time was a sort of stagnent water, musty, inside of an old hot water bottle, a day old folded wet flannel and i even rang Wookey Hole caves and asked if they would permit a 9month pregnant woman into the caves to i could smell those wet, mossy cave walls!!!! Honestly it drove me mad!!! By the way i had a boy, he's now 7 with an acute sense of smell!!!!

me and my boyfriend did a few tests and questions to see if we could find out - we did this test (http://www.childbirth.org/articles/boyorgirl.html) and our result was right....

BUT as the above have mentioned they are all old wives tales and shouldnt be taken too seriously!
i had the same cravings with all 3 of my kids, and i still love the smell of rubber, plastic, vic and chewing on the rubber of a hot water bottle, sad arent i, no i dont think you have different if its a boy or girl
hi! I craved Iceburg lettuce sandwiches with plenty of salt, but had to cut down on the salt because my ankles swelled up.. tinned peaches, the cheaper the better, cornflakes with peaches on top. I had a boy and he's really into Iceburg lettuce sandwiches with no salt! I can't abide tinned peaches now and i can take or leave cornflakes...!
Well, I have two girls child 1 & 3 and one boy. With the girls I had a strong craving for bitter lemon or kids sharp tasting acid drop fruity, sherbety type sweets. Very Tart tasting foods, with the boy I craved smelling petrol (obviously not in large dangerous quantities!) But the bench near the petrol station was heaven. My sister has 4 boys and one girl, when she was craving for the first time with the girl (child no 4) really sharp tasting fruity stuff, I said it's a girl, and it was.
