Can you get a train direct from Soisson and/or Compiegne into Paris? Thanks x

Yes you can - not all that frequent but they do run

Trains from Soissons and Compiegne go direct into Gare du Nord Paris. (Some trains from Compiegne stop at Creil so you have to change.) Trains are more regular, every 20 minutes or so, from Compiegne compared to every 70 to 90 minutes from Soissons. For timetable google voyages sncf.

Fab! thanks a lot. Sounds like Compiegne is the better bet then. I knew that the trains stopped at Gare du Nord Paris but couldn't find a route to view changes etc
Will get my French into gear and look on the site you have suggested
