After my last big bill from my supplier ( p****gen ) I contacted them to find out why it was so large, the girl on the phone mumbled something about rising energy costs etc, nothing could be done etc. I have now learned after some research that if my account was with another supplier (s******h power) my bill would have been 40% cheaper. basically my supplier says "hard lines", Other than switching (already done) is there some other redress from my supplier?

No. As with everything else, it is buyer beware.

It's strange, though, because according to the comparison sites, P..gen is the cheapest option for me.

You've hit them where it hurts most by changing supplier.
