I doubt it, whilst salt is a good healer, in its neat state it would probably be corrosive to a wound and prevent healing, salt water would help a great deal I'm sure!!

I was about to add to the post that I am asking Psychologicaly....
OK, well psychologically, rubbing salt into the wound is known to make things worse!! simply because it would add pain to the psychological wound!!
I once got a grass-burn playing rugby that wouln't heal, so I put neat salt on it. It hurt like hell, but it did the trick.
