Apologies for posting this here but not as many abers seem to visit health and I havent had any answers there so forgive me. Yesterday my dentist said I have a gum infection. Im obsessed with brushing and flosssing and have intense treatment from the hygienist before as I struggle with plaque build up but I have been lax recently with checkups due to having a new dentist and me being so nervous. I know its my own fault and Im lucky to have a dentist. Im having to go to another practice as mine doesnt have a hygienist anymore, the referral says Periodental disease. I know its serious , dont know hat Im more terrified of, the treatment or fear of losing my teeth. Has anyone got any experience of this plaease.

I had exactly the same problem a month or so ago. I have been going to the Dentist every 6 months for years and never had any problems but I have just moved and have a longer journey to work - been busy and it appears although I religiously brush my teeth at least twice a day I have started to rush with the brushing. Dentist recommended I get an electric toothbrush and gave me these tiny toothbrushes for between my teeth too. They have worked a treat It has all cleared up - so don't stress too much and I highly recommend an electric toothbrush if you don't already have one!
