Hi,

I have a 17 year old daughter who is buying a car and obviously needs insurance (fully Comp).

Can anyone help me with good companies that will insure her. Sure the quotes will be HORRENDOUS!!

Many thanks.

i would look at churchill and admiral I recommend them both very much. I and many others have had major problems with Direct Line, so I would advise you to keep clear on them. Alternatively you could try sheila's wheels, for female vehicle insurance
why dont you or your wife insure it,with your daughter as a named driver, some companies let the named drivers earn no claims bonus as well as the insured, and it will be a lot cheaper.

NORMAN!! I dont have a wife - I am Sally!!

Seriously thank you both for the advice - will try those lines.
Direct line is the company that lets named drivers earn their own NCD. Try a comparison website. Moneysupermarket is good and is my best quote. Confused not soo good.

Hope this helps
Also im fully comp and 17. My Insurance for '99 T reg Corsa 1.2 16v club was 1600. I think your daughter (being a woman) based on same car and area/where cars kept/who uses it would be about 1000

The co-op is pretty good for young drivers - CIS insurance. Adding an adult as a named driver should help the cost, if you put her on your insurance she will (probably) not build up her own no-claims.
sally,my dear,you could have a wife,how do i know your not gay

Thank you all again - I will try the companies suggested. Thats if my nerves hold up - she sems to think I will be taking her out all the time - yikes!

ps - Norman - my husband has just left for work!!

PPs - My first car was called Norman the Escort!!
try tesco always cheapest
pucrhase supermarket insurance and you will get a supermarket service. avoid
I always use confued.com or moneysupermarket.com
I learnt to drive and passed my test when I was 24. My partner bought me a 1.6 Ford Sport Ka after my 25 birthday and the cheapest insurance quote was from Diamond (who also include handbag cover!) I also managed to knock 100 of the quote by having him insured as a named driver (he has been driving 15 years) Apparently as he would be driving the car some of the time, he was considered as less of a risk so the premium went down. Worth having an experienced driver as a named driver.
