Can I help ?
Hi, am afraid I have got no knowledge of this course but would like to ask a question if that is ok. I have been appoached by my "Boss" to train for an Level 2 or 3 - I work in a day care centre (2-4yrs). And have said I do not want to do either at this time. I am now not able to get any more hours becuase of this, but my questions to you is................Do you currently work in a 2-4 yrs enviroment and do you know anything about the new government ruling that an employer HAS to be either level 2 or 3 qualified to work there? I have been told that my current hours that I work are safe because I have worked there for a number of years but just cannot do any cover or get any extra hours. Thank you in anticipation. PS I will ask my supervisor at work if she has any info on level 3 as she told me that she got ALOT of info and assistance of off the net.

My supervisor has told me that she isn't aware of any legal requirement to have a qualification. There has to be a percentage of staff qualified, but not all need to be. She suggests that it may be your company policy which is ususally written by a committee who have decided that they want all staff to be trained to a level. I hope this helps. You need to seek out a copy of the policies held at your company to clarify the issue.
