Hi everyone I have a Rowenta (KF942012 Jasper Morrison kettle) but have lost the manual and wanted to know how to de-scale it as I remember when I first got it, it was advised not to use normal de-scaling tablets but to use vinegar instead.
I have tried the vinegar but it doesn't work at all! Does anyone have a Rowenta kettle & if so, what do you use

Strange that the vinegar didn't work. Try 'Scale Away', from most supermarkets. Failing that, new kettles are available from about 6 upwards - a lot less than a Jasper Morrison and doing exactly the same job!
Just get a brand name kettle desacaler ....Wilkinsons sell it . Oust I think it's called .Little sachet of blue liquid. The vinegar thing is a waste of time ....it does work but you have to let it stand for ages ...not practical the way my lot drink tea !.This stuff will descale your kettle in about ten minutes. We live in a very hard water area and I have to descale at least once a week.if I were to keep messing about with vinegar I would be there all day. ..and it would cost twice as much in the long run.

I use citric acid one teaspoon in the kettle 3/4 fill it ,switch on but do not let it boil rinse out when it is clear boil with fresh water prior to normal use, better than all the speciality products and cheaper.
