I have heard and seen on travel programs that you can drive across USA and get paid expenses i.e a car company wants a car delivered across USA so you can sign up to drive it for them.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to any companies or websites as I want to do this

Cheers

Google for driveaway, which is the US term, and you'll find some links.
Across the USA would be rare. Bear in mind you wouldn't be able to stray very much from the interstates and would be allowed only a minimum time to do it. It's a delivery service, not a provider of a holiday. If you are happy with that OK, but don't get any false expectations.
You might be able to arrange something in one direction, but would you also be able to find something in the opposite direction within the time-frame of your holiday period?

Just check out how much an open-jaw air ticket would cost (e.g. London-New York / Los Angeles - London) compared with a normal London-Los Angeles return (for example).
the delivery company wants the car from a to b in shortest possible time. they wont give the car to a foreigner on holiday with no driving experience in the USA and no permit to work. shelve this idea.

DOM TUK I have spent at least 1 month of each of the last 10 years working in the USA so I have more experience that all but Americans so dont be so quick to judge.

Steve D I like your way of thinking but travel to/from USA is not an issue as its being paid for by my company its just I have work 1 week in NY, then once I finish, I have a 7 day gap then another weeks work in SF so I basically want to stay out in USA if viable. Any costs incurred I can put to my company as a cheaper ioption than flying me home then back out a week later.

I dont mind doing the trip in a time frame and I have googled drive aways but there is not much info out there and what seems like the biggest companys website seems to be down. I just need some info to get me to the next stage and by the way DOM TUK it was advertised a few years ago on the HOLIDAY program so shelving the idea aint an option
Dont take it the wrong way robski but for the 7 days you get between working stints why do you want to drive for hours on endless interstate highways? The only good thing i can think of is that their radio is much better than ours. But the motels/small towns can be quite drab (unlike some of ours). Put your legs up on the beaches of Long Island and bill your comepany for it. only a suggestion.
