You can't have 2 cars insured in the same name. We've recently bought a second car and I asked Direct Line the same question. One has had to be in my name and one in my husbands.
Hingham I have to disagree. You can insure more than 1 car in your name but can only have the no-claims bonus earned on the one vehicle.

I would question Direct Line why they wont do this because its no loss to them.
Sorry I mean, each vehicle you insure will accumulate no-claims bonus but if you only insured one vehicle before you can only use the NCB on one of the vehicles while building up the NCB on the second vehicle.

Does that make sense!!!

yeah i think its because they caught onto the fact that people like me who havent got any no-claims (new driver) were using their parents insurance and being named as a second driver so its cheaper, obviously if they allow this they're losing out as younger drivers are charged more. Thanks for the answers!
