My course of antibiotics (Amoxycillin) takes me from Monday to Friday inclusive. If I want to have a pint of beer on Friday lunchtime, can I use up my Friday antibiotics on Saturday instead of on Friday, and so finish the course on Saturday instead?

i wouldn't take a break - go ahead and have the beer, i've drunk on amoxycillin without any problems.x
Give your body a complete rest.

Have an orange juice.
Not being able to drink while taking anti-biotics is a bit of an urban myth.

In the vast majority of cases there is no problem but there are a few anti-biotics which in rare cases can make you very sick indeed.

If you're prescribed one of these your doctor will warn you
As i recall drinking on Amoxycillin is fine but drinking alcohol whilst taking antibiotics reduces the effectiveness of them-probably because alcohol, especially in excess, can suppress your immune system. Seeing as you would be at the end of your prescibed course and only having a pint it shouldn't pose a problem.
I don't understand Amoxycillin is an anti-biotic.

I can't find any reliable data to suggest that it is affected by alcohol amoxycillin does seem to reduce the effectiveness of some birth control pills.
Don't take a break - it'll reduce the effectiveness of your antibiotics.

Thanks for all your replies. I understand that the pub that we will be drinking in, on Friday lunchtime, sells Caliber (non-alcoholic lager) as well as fruit juices. My Uncle is on a course of a different type of antibiotics and so he will be drinking Caliber or fruit juice. This means that I won't be on my own. We will have to give the real ale a break until another week, but the others in the group will still be drinking Bombadier, or other real beers.
you could give your chemist a ring - they are usually really helpful x
