Neighbours from hell

We had them and ending up selling our home of 15 years and losing 25,000 .REALLY bad time.
Happy ending tho, bought an American motorhome out of proceeds and bin exploring Europe for last 4 years.
What are your NFH or happy ending stories ??

Not so much neighbours but local kids where I used to live, a ginnel down the side of a park. They had a decided arson fetish round our way, started with wheelie bins then when no-one had any left they started on bin bags then park bins and benches and finally the bandstand. The poor firemen were up two or three times a night at one point in the holidays and at weekends.

We had out windows smashed once and I peeped through the curtains to check the damage when another rock was thrown and smashed right where my head was, thank goodness for double glazing is all I can say!

Since an incident where a lady was attacked and stabbed 7 times by a nutter with two knives outside my house it's became quieter in the evenings round there as it was sealed off by the police for days and we even had to sign in and out through the police cordon then had a mobile police station and loads of police around and it was on Crimewatch. They've made a big effort now putting kids entertainment and concerts and such on now to try and make it more public friendly.

The police are pretty good round here though, remember getting besieged at a garden picnic by a load of little scroats who attacked us with missiles of bottles and rocks and such then came in and started wrecking stuff so we had to hide inside and phone the police who turned up with the armed riot squad bless em.

I sympathise with you Peppy, my NFH have finally moved, they were only renting but have been trying to get them out for a year! They were gypsies who never worked, just lived off car boot sales, fixed old cars on the driveway to sell on, swore at their 2 children, interfered with my pets, littered my front and back garden - also with their cigar/cigarette butts, washing cars at 2-3 in the morning, strimming their lawn in the wee small hours, their back garden looked like a yard sale.....yuk yuk yuk, so they have gone now, but not for throwing a few last bits of stuff at my house, I returned home to find my front door covered in hair gel ! And a false joke dog poo posted through my letter box, juvenile or what?

My daughter had neighbours from hell for years, after a very worrying time of verbal abuse and threats she stuck it out and finally got her day in court, the 3 yobs got ASBOS and she got �40,000 from the people she bought the house off. She now gives adivice to people in the same position.

People don't understand do they ? We had the " just ignore them advice ", but you can't.
Our neighbour did the following :
1. Shouted abuse at us dozens of times a day,nasty,personal things,even about our family members and she did this EVERY time we opened the door for 4 years,even when Mr.P left for work at 4.30 am )
2. Threw stones and yelled at our visitors,in the end, nobody dared to come.
3.Rang the RSPCA to say we were going away for days on end leaving our dog tied up alone. ( Hubby sez there is more chance of me leaving him at home !! )
4.Rang Hubbys place of work every time he came home in the company vehicle to get him into trouble.
5.Phoned the police and accused us of loads of things we'd not done ( they had to come,and we had to fight our corner every time,but eventually warned her that she was harrassing us and would be arrested if she didn't stop )
6. Invented a boundary dispute which cost us 1000's to disprove, and even when we were proved right she paid her solicitor to carry on.
7.The Customs and Excise raided us, accusing us of smuggling drugs etc. They emptied all our cupboards, took the side off the bath and tipped the garage out. Obviously found nothing and when I showed them the past solicitors letters they apologised. V V stressfull though.
The police ' sympathised ' with us all the way, but said she'd got it in for us and nothing was going to stop her, but because my husband is a 6ft lorry driver and she was a church going pensioner .........

I meant the police eventually warned her that she faced arrest , not that we did, like it read xxx

Is this still an ongoing problem or has it been resolved.

After 4 years of trying to fight her, we took the advice of our doctor and sold up.
When you sell your house now there is a questionnaire that asks " Are you involved in a neighbour or boundary dispute " We had both, and if you don't declare either ,you can be sued for with-holding information. We had recently read of a case where they had been sued for 46,000.
We got out and are now really happy xxx

I had to put up with noisy neighbours/drug-users and dealers for about three years. The constant thump-thump-thump of dance/techno music vibrating through the walls and then the constant rapping of knuckles of next doors drug taking visitors calling for their fix. I saw kids going in,mothers with babies. We had environmental health officers,the police and they all(in the long run) did nothing.
So I ended up moving.
To anyone out there that is going through this sort of thing,I feel sorry for you and only hope it can be resolved as quickly as possible because it will leave a lasting detrimental effect on you and your family.
I could go into more detail but it makes me sick just thinking about it.
